2012 Ford Explorer EcoBoost Offers Class-leading Power Consumption

Ford has released new information on the EcoBoost 2012 Explorer.

Designed for fuel-conscious buyers, the crossover is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder 240 hp (179 kW / 243 hp) and 270 lb.-ft. (366 Nm) of torque. It does not sound like a lot of power for a seven-seat crossover, but Ford boasts that the Explorer is rated first-class fuel economy of 20 mpg city / highway 28 mpg. For comparison, the performance of the explorer with the 3.5-liter V6 17 mpg highway mpg city / 25.

Pricing information was not released, but the model is expected to begin arriving in dealerships shortly.
